You’re Invited to a Unique Evening of Reflection and Inspiration
When: March 23 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ
The Roosevelt Arts Project (RAP) and Rise are honored to present a special evening with Albert Hepner, a Holocaust survivor and renowned author of Avrumele: Recollections of a Hidden Child. This joint event, hosted by Meadow Lakes, promises to be enlightening and poignant.
Albert Hepner’s story is one of resilience and courage. As a hidden child during the Holocaust, he experienced the fear and uncertainty of living in the shadows, away from his family, to escape the horrors of Nazi persecution. His journey from a child in hiding to an inspirational speaker and author offers profound insights into the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity.
In addition to sharing his personal experiences, Albert Hepner, an adjunct ESL professor at Kean College, will reflect on the broader impact of Nazi anti-Semitic policies and the violence that marked the night of 1938, leading to the murder of nearly 100 German Jews. His life, marked by fear, hopelessness, and eventual healing, serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to remember and learn from the past.
The evening will also highlight the collaborative missions of RAP and Rise, organizations dedicated to fostering artistic collaboration and community service. Our current project aims to raise awareness among young people, encouraging them to pursue higher education and realize their dreams.
Following Albert’s talk, Avrumele: Recollections of a Hidden Child will be available for purchase, offering further insight into his remarkable journey.
We look forward to sharing this memorable evening with you. Your presence will honor Albert Hepner’s legacy and support our ongoing efforts to inspire and educate our community.
