As the new school year approaches, the excitement is palpable, but so is the anxiety for many families facing the high costs of school supplies. At Rise, we believe every child deserves the right start to the school year, and you can help make that happen.
Why the Backpack Drive Matters:
This year, we are committed to distributing 1,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, each valued at $225. These backpacks are more than just bags; they are vessels of hope, packed with the tools necessary for academic achievement and confidence in the classroom.
Your Role in This Journey:
We’re calling on our community heroes—yes, that’s you!—to contribute in whatever way you can. Here’s how you can make a tangible difference:
- Donate: Every contribution helps. Sponsor a backpack for a child with a donation of any amount you can afford.
- Volunteer: Join us to pack and distribute backpacks. It’s a perfect opportunity for team building or community service.
- Spread the Word: Share our mission with your network. The more people involved, the greater our impact.
Highlights of Our Ongoing Initiatives:
- Educational Programs: Partnering with local schools, we provide a six-week program to keep the learning going during summer.
- Nutritional Support: Through initiatives like Rise Pantry and Rise on the Run, we ensure our children are well-fed and ready to learn.
- Rising Stars Dancers: Witness our young stars perform at the open recital on June 29th—supporting talents across all backgrounds.
- Mark Your Calendars: Come pick up a backpack filled with supplies at our Rise office from August 26th to 29th. A local report card is your ticket to receiving these educational tools.

Backpack Distribution
Backpack distribution for registered Rise clients will be on Monday, August 26th, from 10 am to 6 pm, at the Rise home office, 219 Franklin St, Hightstown. Non-registered clients must show a report card or birth certificate for each child to receive a school backpack on Tuesday, August 27th, from 10 am to 6 pm and Thursday, August 29th, from 10 am to 6 pm.
